Here's another one inspired from the current On Stage - a biggie clip card. The scallop on the top of the card is actually attached to a huge paper clip to be taken off and used as a book mark. After folding your paper, open it up and cut a half circle across the center fold line of the card and then at the bottom of the circle, just cut a 1" opening for the clip to tuck into. Confused? Come to April Stamp camp and we'll make one!!

bind it all book
The laundry just had to wait... I found some time to create! (I'm a poet and didn't know it... there I go again!)
My youngest son's best friend turned 8 and his party is this weekend. I have wanted to make him a sketch book since I got my bind it all, but haven't had a chance. Well, I finally made time today...with 2 days to spare!
This book is really quite simple. I cut up some old cereal boxes to 8 1/2 x 6, then cut some typing paper down to 8 x 5 1/2. Then I just used an old simply scrapping kit from Stampin Up! If you've never tried these things - you must! There is absolutely NO thinking involved - everything you need is included and it all coordinates beautifully! After everything was done, I punched it with my Bind it all and put it together. This went together in under an hour and I think he's gonna love showing off his special creations in his special sketch book!

Always and Together Forever
I have this heart (from SU's Always) on loan from my friend Kirstin. She has challenged me to come up with something using it. The Mr. & Mrs. are from my Together Forever set. I have been crazy busy today getting ready for easter, but I took a break to blurf (blog surf) I'm not sure if I just made that up or read it soemwhere, but I like it. While blurfing (he, he) I saw today's sketch challenge on Lauren Meader's blog. Here is my attempt at a "keep it in the corner - one layer card". I didn't have any black craft ink, so I used Not Quite Navy ink and then black embossing powder - worked just fine! The half-back pearl is hiding a small smudge on the dot after Mrs.... In stamping, there are no mistakes - just opportunities to embellish!

I missed HOW many birthdays?
This happens every year! All of a sudden it's March and I've missed 9... count 'em 9 birthdays that we were too busy with hockey to attend! I've missed 2 nephews, 5 nieces, 1 mother and 1 sister over the last 2 months... man, where does the time go? As I will see all of them tomorrow for easter, I figured I'd better get into birthday mode today!!
These are little notebooks complete with pens (aren't they cute). I picked them up a long time ago from Mike's dollar spot with the intent of altering them some day. Quick, quick I personalized them for my twin nieces - all kids love personalized stuff (and money), right? There are stickles on the flower centers - these girls love their bling:) Thanks for stopping by...... Hoppy Easter!

Potlid Purse
Nothing new to show you today as I had to work and then held Diva club. The girls really enjoyed the 2 techniques we did tonight (see posts below). This is a potlid purse I did a while ago for one of my boys' teachers - I can't even remember which one now. It's called a potlid purse as that's what you use to make it - literally, a POTLID. Choose the size you want and trace it onto a piece of paper leaving it hanging over the edge on the bottom enough to get a straight edge. Cut out two the same size and attach them to a cut down lunch bag, much like the genie bag. Decorate it as desired and fill it with whatever your little heart desires. Mine is made with designer paper (vendor unknown) which was adhered to stampin up whisper white cardstock. Thanks for stopping by.

March Diva Club
It's almost time for our Diva Club meeting!
I spent most of the evening helping my son with a school project, but I did sneak in these two technique cards for this month's Diva's. The techniques requested by this month's hostess are Dryer Sheet and Faux Leather. Admittedly, I haven't done much of either one, so it was fun to get out all the stuff to make these samples. You can see the full card that we'll be making if you scroll down. Hope you're all keeping warm and dry tonight (lots of rain here in CNY). Thanks for checking in...See ya tomorrow!

A parachuting monkey!
While blog surfing I came across a card like this and had to try one for myself. This is the card I made for a recent "shoebox" swap that I attended in Rotterdam, NY. Everyone brings enough pre-cut supplies for all to make their project. I think the girls were a little apprehensive about this one, but it was MUCH easier than it looks. The directions are below, but first a hint about your paper trimmer: If you look closely at the sides of your orange cutting blade, you'll see little arrows on each side. If you line those arrows up with the markings on your paper cutter's bar, you can cut slits like I did for this card. Just lift your blade until you get to the desired starting point, THEN apply pressure to cut. Give it a try - it's easy!
Cut a 4 inch slit in soft sky paper. Place paper in cutter with 5” side facing top/bottom. Place left side of paper at 3” mark. Now look at the “bar” on the cutter and find the 4 ½ mark. Line the arrow on the orange cutting blade up with 4 ½ and cut a slot up to the ½ inch mark. Move left side of paper to 3 1/4” and cut parallel slot starting at ½ inch mark down to 4 ½.
Stamp monkey and sentiment in Basic Brown on Vanilla Scrap. Color using markers and blender pen. Cut out money. Cut out sentiment.
Stamp parachute onto designer paper. Cut out along outside of line and adhere to stamped image.
Punch word window from scrap paper and tuck under your slit, fold ends towards middle, but leave enough room so it will slide easily. Adhere one end on top of the other with sticky strip. Adhere monkey to top with sticky strip.
Adhere “dropping by to celebrate” sentiment to top of card.
cut “grass” into wild wasabi strip and adhere to bottom of card.
Stamp “Hope your birthday’s really great” in basic brown on bottom right of card.
Adhere soft sky to blue bayou piece. Adhere blue bayou to vanilla card base.

A Child's Laughter
Good morning everyone - hope you are all enjoying your sunday. I had to... ugh.... cook and clean this morning, but now I have a bit of time to play before heading to dinner at the out-laws. My sister's birthday is coming up and hopefully she doesn't read my blog... shannon if you're reading STOP NOW! cause this will be your "surprise". I just love this picture of her kids with Lex (chunky monkey) smiling so big her eyes are shut :) Not much to explain on this one, I picked up this frame yesterday on sale at Joanne's and it was already painted white, so I just added some rub-ons (did I mention that I LOVE them), printed the sentiment out on my computer and wha-la beauty in the form of a framed picture!! I also added one blue and one pink dew drop to represent her two adorable kids! Thanks for stopping by!

Bread Milk and Eggs.... My Grocery List
I really needed to go to the grocery store this morning, but before I went, I HAD to make a list first, right?!? (don't tell hubby). I think we will be making this as one of the projects at my upcoming Tart and Tangy Class. Thanks for stopping by - hope you like today's project. Anyone need me to pick them up anything at the grocery store?

We're No. 3!
Okay, so it doesn't have quite the same ring as we're No. 1, but it ain't bad!!! It's been a long weekend, but I'm home now and hopefully I'll have some new and cool projects to share with you after work today.
We returned yesterday from the NYS Squirt Hockey Championships - while our team didn't bring home the 6 ft tall Championship trophy (where would that of fit anyway?), they played their hearts out and made us all EXTREMELY proud. The way the coaches figure it, we can claim to be the 3rd or 4th best Tier II squirt team in all of NYS... way to go boys!! It's a bit sad for me as it's the end of the "innocent hockey" years for DS#1 as next year he'll move up to PeeWees, which means checking. Someone asked me if I didn't want him to check and my reply was "no, I want him to check, I don't want him to GET checked - he's a peanut"!! Maybe he'll grow a bunch over the summer. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled stampin' program.... (following a short delay called work)

It's in the Bag - a Genie Bag!
This morning I worked on a Genie Bag. These are called Genie bags because of the creative gal that came up with the idea. Basically, you cover the front and back of a lunch bag with cardstock to make a simple, pretty gift bag. Love these things!
